There is only one direct train - overnight. Otherwise you change trains at least once - in Katowice. That's about 6 and half hours. The fastest is from Krakow to Ostrava Main Train Station by bus, from Ostrava to Vienna by train. About 5 and half hours. There are many more slower combinations, see Deutsche Bahn website.
How to Look Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. It doesn't sell tickets for this route. I would buy tickets in a train station or travel agency in Europe, probably about $65 for 2nd class, seat assignments optional.
No seats on the night train Krakow-Vienna--there are only couchettes and sleeping cars.
Look at the Polrail Service web site for time and options. They allow you to book up to 60 days in advance.
No seats? That precludes the night train option between those two cities.
Who would travel at night on the seat? It's for sleeping on bed.
No seats on a night train I took to mean no compartments where you have six seats. It's pointed out the Krakow-Vienna route night train offers the couchette and sleeper, ie no compartments. The EN trains offer all three choices where you sleep upright in the compartment seat.
I made this trip during the day, just checked schedules, there are several day trains with a journey from 5-8 hours.
Yes there are day trains but you have to change trains at least once in Katowice. See my first post.
