Train or bus Prague to Krakow

Leaving this Friday from Prague. I see there is one daily direct train (don't want a sleeper) that's 8+ hours and bus is 6+ hours. Usually take trains but have heard varying reports. Would love to know your experience.

Would your schedule allow an overnight stay in Olomouc en route? We broke our train journey in that city, spending an afternoon, evening and a morning before continuing. We did not want to do that long train ride. Olomouc was interesting and easily visited, we thought, in this short time frame. It was easy to get from the train station into town and back on the bus or tram. Safe travels.

It's about 320 miles between the cities, and it's a 5 hour trip by car. 6 hours by bus would be normal.
Trains are 8-9 hours on the same route, some of which get there in the middle of the night.
You can fly on Ryanair on Mondays and Fridays for as low as $30 one way. That's the preferable way to get from Krakow to Prague.

Long-distance buses are usually pretty comfortable, but a train still gives you more freedom to stretch your legs. That 10:00 train departure indicates a Bistro car, but I'd prefer to bring my own food and beverage aboard.
