Train into Gdansk from Berlin

Hello! I have a simple question for anyone familiar with the train to Gdansk. Arriving for the RS Best of Poland tour, I will be taking the train from Berlin to Gdansk, a day or two prior to the beginning of the RS tour. I am flying from the States into Berlin, for a few days of touring Berlin and its environs, as well as visiting a friend. Then I will transit to Gdansk via train. Departing from Berlin Hbf. Which train station would I book my arrival into in Gdańsk? Gdansk Glowny? That appears to be the main station. Or one of the others - I see there are least two stations besides Glowny.

Also, some prior posts speak of the “Northern Route” from Berlin to Gdansk. I am not sure what that route is, and cannot find any information in spite of considerable googling. Prior posts seem to portray it as scenic and interesting. Even if it is a bit longer, time-wise, it sounds like it might be interesting. I am in no rush.

Oh, one last question. The difference between regular coach and first class? Is there any difference that warrants the additional fare? Thanks in advance. Last point - traveling alone.

Take the train from the above post. That is the one you want. I know Rick says go second class but for the last two years we have gotten 1st class tickets cheap, and we buy them. The difference is wider and more comfortable seats and more leg room. Seems there is more room to store your luggage. The tickets won't allow you into the diner car, but we always bring snacks and the individual with the snack cart is always around. So, check the price on 1st class and 2nd class.

“Glowny” means “main” in Polish so that’s typically the one you need to go for. Second class is plenty comfortable. I difference is a slightly wider seat and slightly more leg room, but I never found second class to be uncomfortable.
