I will be arriving in Warsaw mid afternoon with 3 adult children. We would like to take the train to the city since we are staying at the Polonia Palace near the train station. Since we don't speak Polish, how does buying a train ticket at the airport occur? Is there a ticket window or a ticket machine? I just want to make sure we know how to do this. The easiest option would be a taxi. Thanks!
Here is all the info about how to buy the train ticket, you don't need to speak Polish to use a ticket machine but you need to know your destination stop name. You can also confirm this info with the hotel staff, who should be able to guide you in English.

Trains are fantastic in Poland. I did have a bit of a difficulty buying tickets when the person at the counter did not speak English. What I ended up doing was to write the destination in all upper case letters on a piece of paper. Another idea is to have a map with the destination circled or a picture of where you are going. Also, I noted that at bigger places like the airport, there was a greater chance there would be an English speaking employee.
We left Poland from Warsaw and took the train from city center to the airport. I think it was the equivalent of about $2/person. It was very easy.
Polish people are very kind and helpful. There was one time I was struggling to communicate what I needed to the person at the counter and a man walking by came up to the counter to interpret for me.
I'd plan on taking the train. You'll be fine.
