We will be spending one day in Gdansk ( July 9 ) and would like to hire a local guide. Specifically interested in touring the Solidarity Center.

Have you looked at the museum's website already to see what options they have? Other than that, I think Gdansk is very easy to navigate on your own.

We went to the new WWII museum in Gdansk a few weeks back. Hands down the best WWII museum we have seen and you can get headphones and an English audioguide.
You won't need a guide. Gdansk is easy and most people you will encounter speak English.
