Small Group Tours in Lisbon

Hello, fellow travelers.

My party of four is traveling to Portugal for the first time this coming October. (Two of us are 70 years, two of us are in our 60s.) We will be in Lisbon for about 5 days, staying in the central part of the city. We're searching for small group tours that are:

  • Low to Medium physical intensity, perhaps one half day being the best choice
  • We're interested in beautiful views, interesting architecture
  • We're interested in local food and wine. Small (not necessarily famous) cafes and eateries would be wonderful.
  • We're interested in fun music venues.
  • Wondering if you'd recommend walking, taking the bus, taking the trolley, etc.
  • Not looking for free tours.
  • Would love a local guide, with lots of experience. (Who wouldn't!)

Highly recommend Lisbon Riders. Great tour of the coast, Cascais and Sintra.

Here’s another vote for Lisbon Riders: https://lisbonriders.com/

We used them a few months ago.

We did a 5 hour get-acquainted with Lisbon tour with them. That was 250 Euros for private.
We did an 8 hour day tour to Obidos, Nazarre and Alcobaca monastery and Batalha monastery. That was 300 Euros for private.
We did an 8 hour day to Sintra to see about 5 buildings/palaces. That was 270 Euros for private.

With four of you, private tours would be pretty reasonable! Lisbon Riders will come pick you up in a comfy van and we used three of their guides and loved them all.

One note - they told me that they have limited private offering days right now because there are so many people traveling. They’re a small company with limited staff.

They’re worth it even if you have to do one of their small group tours!
