We are traveling with 3 children and 3 adults to Krakow. When visiting the salt mine, I read that you can book a private guide. Can this be done on the website? Or is it better to book a ‘private guide’ to take us there including a tour?
We plan to purchase the Krakow card. With a 3 yo, he would be free on transportation so he could use the cheaper card, correct?

The website does appear to allow you to book a tour for a group of 20-40 people. As an individual, or a small group such as yours, you would just join a guided English tour which are generally every 30 minutes. The website provides the full details.
You can also book a "tour" which will typically include hotel pickup and dropoff, transport to and from the mines, and a tour leader. Once onsite, you'll be turned over to one of the Salt Mine's professional guides for the pre-scheduled time of your guided tour.
