Hello all! When we are able to travel again we plan on taking the RS Best of Eastern Europe tour and as I dream and plan I'm just wondering from anyone who has been on the 15 day tour if you could tell me the approximate time that you get back to Krakow after visiting Auschwitz. Thanks!

We went to Krakow and Auschwitz on our own. Just a warning that you probably will be exhausted emotionally after visiting Auschwitz and may not want to do anything else when you return to your hotel.

Suki- thank-you, I know. I have been to Auschwitz twice already. I have a Masters in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. My 3 companions have not been and it is so important to go I will go again with them.

I was on that tour in Spring 2019 and our time in Krakow did not follow the published itinerary. We saw Wawel Castle in the morning and then jumped on the bus after lunch for Auschwitz. We actually did not get back to the hotel until well after dark that day. My impression was that group tickets to Auschwitz are hard to get, even for the RS organization. They call for reservations and just take whatever time they can get and then they work the rest of the schedule in Krakow around that booking. Having seen all the scheduled sites in one day, our guide planned some optional things for us to do the second day and booked tentative reservations in advance for us. My suggestion for you is to call the RS office once you book your tour and see what they have to say about the Auschwitz scheduling....
