A friend and I are planning a 2-week trip in September to Eastern Europe. We don't "love" large cities but prefer to visit smaller towns and beautiful scenic areas. As an example, we just returned from a 2-week trip to Chile. We didn't spend any time in Santiago, but instead spent our time on the beautiful old fishing island of Chiloe, in the Atacama Desert, and in the Maule Valley exploring the Andes Mountains.
We do plan to spend a week exploring Krakaw and Prague, because they are so full of history, but would like to fill the rest of our time exploring small towns and enjoying scenery. We potentially will fly into Prague and fly out of Krakaw. We can rent a car, if that makes sense, to see some of the countryside. A few days in Chesky Krumlov could be interesting, but wondering what other places you may suggest.
