Coming from Wroclaw, we will be in Poznan for 1 night in order to do a private genealogy tour. From there we are headed to Gdansk. We have 1 additional night and I am trying to determine if we should spend it as a second night in Poznan, or drive to Torun and spend the night there? I'm not a fan of moving hotels too frequently, but is Torun worth it?

I have not been to Poznan and loved Torun, but I am also very much not a fan of one night stays unless you are just transiting somewhere. If I were making the choice for myself, having a specific purpose for Poznan, I would spend 2 nights there. But there’s no wrong choice here.

I stopped in Torun for one night going the other direction, from Gdansk to Wroclaw (by train). Torun's old town core is compact and doesn't require a lot of time to see - lovely town. i would highly recommend at least a stop for a few hours to walk around the center if you don't spend a night.
