Poznan Question

Considering a stop in Poznan in May 2024. A quick view of a couple YouTube videos revels that the central square is in pretty heavy construction status. Does anyone have any experience with this situation and can offer an opinion as to the wisdom of investing a couple days in Poznan next May Thanks in advance for any info.

Poznan was brutally bombed during the war and a square was rebuilt but doesn’t make up for what was destroyed. I don’t recommend spending time there.

Is this your first trip to Poland? How many nights are you spending in other Polish cities? Are you traveling by train and approaching Poland from Germany?

I'm in the totally recommend a stop in Poznan. Also high on the list would be Gdansk, Wroclaw, Krakow. Warsaw is near the bottom of my Poland experiences although the Warsaw Sheraton Club Floor remains my best European hotel stay to-date.

I enjoyed a shortish visit (two nights) to Poznan in 2018, but I spent about six weeks in Poland. A week isn't even long enough for Krakow, Warsaw and Gdansk. I'd put Poznan well down the list. If you need to break your journey into Poland somewhere, there's definitely nothing wrong with choosing Poznan, but I wouldn't spend time there on this trip unless necessary.

My brief sightseeing notes for Poznan only mention the Narodowe Museum, which I think has multiple locations.
