We will be in Warsaw for the holidays and are considering a side visit to the Wroclaw Christmas markets, as we have heard good things about Wroclaw in general and that it's the best market in Poland. Current plan is to take the train. We have a week or so to play with and I'm wondering if there are any nice Christmas markets in Germany (or Czechia) within a reasonable train/bus ride from Wroclaw? We would then have to make our way back to Warsaw, but could fly back if we ended up in a bigger city. I'm not sure if what I'm asking for even exists, but if there is I figured someone on here may know. ;)
The Christmas markets are a "basically" Germanic tradition. Wroclaw was a German town, which is why they have the tradition. The same with places in Alsace-Lorraine, like Strasbourg. So that's a part of the issue with finding them outside of the old Holy Roman Empire boundaries. Still, there are some. Here's a link with many of them.
Krakow has an excellent Christmas Market on the medieval main square (recently ranked the best Europe). https://notesfrompoland.com/2023/11/13/krakows-christmas-market-ranked-as-best-in-europe/
