New to this site...questions re: Poland tour

Hi,
I'm new to this site but have always been wanting to visit Poland as my entire family is from there. I was hoping to do 7 day tour of just Poland but that length of time doesn't seem to be a choice. Thoughts on 10 days...seems long to me. Also, how much free time can one get so as to do things like go to my Babcie's home town, etc. If possible, how does that work? How can one arrange for a private (my family only) tour.TIA for any advice. thoughts, etc.

jax544, welcome to the forum. There are other tour companies that offer Poland tours of different lengths and itineraries. Some of which will arrange custom tours if you want to visit specific places. What is the town that you want to visit? That will help figure out how best to see it.

On an RS tour, there is some free time, but not enough to go far from the town you are in. But what many people do (on any RS tour) is add days on either end to travel independently. Ten days is barely enough to see a whole country, especially when you consider travel time, and jet lag. Seven days is really too short for more than two places to stop. So I think you'd either have to commit to more time, or narrow your focus.

Please ask more questions and this forum will help you out.

We will be spending 15 nights in Poland in October and I wish we had more time. We are traveling independently, so obviously not a tour. In my opinion 10 nights is definitely not too long, but we like to actually spend time in our chosen locations when we travel as opposed to just checking the names of places off.

Generally on a RS Tour, Day 1 is just a late afternoon group meeting and a dinner, and maybe a short walking tour. And the last day only includes breakfast at the hotel and everyone goes their separate ways. So really, it’s more like 8 days.
