New Schindler Factory ticket rules

I'll be in Krakow late September/early October and plan to visit the factory, and I see the ticket rules have changed as of May 1, 2025. In person tickets will no longer be sold at the visitor center, only the factory ticket office.

As for online ticket sales, the website says they go on sale 120 days in advance but it seems (just after a quick check) that in practice they are being released 90 days out. Does anyone know if each day's tickets go on sale at midnight local time (similar to the Vatican Museums ticketing system) or if they get released in chunks? Or, anybody have any luck getting them in person at the ticket office on the day?

You can check yourself when exactly tickets are released. In my opinion pinpointing the exact time is not necessary. It's not the Vatican. Yes, a lot of people get them at the ticket office.

When I visited Krakow during the summer of 2018, I bought my Schindler Factory ticket online, a bit ahead of time. When I arrived for my first-entry time slot, there was a sign on the door, saying tickets were sold out for that day. Late September isn't the same as summer, but then again, 2025 is not the same as 2018.

I don't think they sell a huge number of tickets for each entry period. The area toured isn't very spacious. I'd definitely buy the ticket in advance. How far in advance would depend on how much timing flexibility you have.

It's online Auschwitz tickets that been the most popular in the area. They were sold out for the best eight days at the time of my 2018 trip. The policy at the time--which may have changed--was to withhold some tickets for sale at the camp/memorial, but the line for those tickets was long, outdoors, amd unprotected from the weather. <>

I've been watching the site for a few days now and it always says "Brak miejsc" for regular individual tickets, and guided tours are sold out for 10:00 and 12:00 time slots virtually every day before I can get to the site.

So far, it seems like they're only selling up to mid September so I have a couple weeks to figure out the process, but I'm still unclear as to when they go on sale. It doesn't seem to be midnight Polish time. I normally prefer to visit such sites at my own pace, but if I strike out, I may just end up booking the 16:00 guided tour when it goes on sale as those seem to be available for most days (though it is about twice the price).

Also, yes, I plan on buying my Auschwitz ticket well in advance but the options there seem more straightforward.

Today, I tried to secure tickets today for July 10, and it appears the only tickets available at the official museum site for "Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory" in July are for Saturday, July 19, at 4:00 PM, for a tour with an English-speaking guide, and ... there is no other group tour available at all. The option for an individual ticket is grayed out for the month as well.

We have a day-long tour scheduled with Marta Chmielowska from the Rick Steves guidebook, and our group is supposed to get our own tickets. Of course, I will write to Marta to ask for advice, but does anyone else have any advice regarding how I might be able to secure tickets for a group of eight on the day we need? Is it likely a middle-man operation like Viator would sell tickets just for the museum?

Thank you in advance for your positive responses.

I don't know anything about the current ticket situation at the Schindler Factory, but it is not unheard of for tour tickets and independent-visit tickets to go on sale at different times for a place of tourist interest. It has definitely happened in the past for the Vatican.

It is a fact that for most places with timed tickets, the morning-entry slots seem most popular and most likely to sell out first. Commercial tour groups like those early slots, and many tourists also prefer them--if they can get them--in hopes of somewhat less-crowded conditions (which don't always pan out).

I was able to get a ticket eventually. I was never able to figure out exactly when they go on sale but my guess is probably 9am or 10am Polish time (the time the museum opens, depending on the day), 90 days before the date of entry. They were mostly sold out but it does seem like they are released in batches. Either that, or some visitors and/or agencies try to buy tickets and leave them in their carts, then the time lapses and they are released again.

So if anyone is coming across this wondering the same thing, depending on what time zone you are in relative to Poland, I suppose it would be good to check either before you go to bed or very early in the morning 90 days before your desired date.

Disclaimer: This is just my personal observation for buying tickets as of July 2025 (for dates in September/October 2025). The museum website does indicate that there will be further changes to make the process easier when booking online, though they have not specified in exactly what way they plan to do so.

I was trying to check tickets for September but the entire month is grayed out. So are August and July for that matter. After digging on the website, I came across this blurb:

"We would like to inform you that the inability to purchase tickets through the system does not mean that tickets are unavailable at the ticket office. The ticket office sells tickets based on seat availability. Ticket office sells tickets to the Schindler Factory only on the day of the visit, for the next available date. There is a purchase limit of 14 tickets per person. Entry to the exhibition is possible within 15 minutes from the time indicated on the ticket. Online sales are conducted up to 6 hours before the visit date."

Looks like visiting the museum for tickets for the day of the visit is a possibility if one cannot purchase them online.

Thanks Pam - we plan to visit late September so this is helpful to our planning!
I did just purchase two English tour tickets for the end of September (only 5 were left at the 1500 tour, there are three tours in English each day. I did purchase slightly discounted ticket - couldn't figure out who was entitled but figured we are senior enough, it should work!
