Hello, I will be on the RST Best of Poland Tour beginning 7/1/2025. I would like to know if we will need some local currency. If so, how much to you recommend and what are the best ATM's to use?
Thanks for your help.

I've been to Poland twice in the last year including a couple of weeks ago.
I have not taken the RS tour. However, to this day, I have never gotten any Zloty. There was no need for it. Everywhere I went took credit cards (contactless.)
You may need Zloty, but I mostly use credit cards. I can't recall ever needing coins for a public restroom, like you might find in Spain, Greece, or Italy. The only time I needed zloty was at a religious item store in Sanok.
Try to find a regular bank to get some zloty and use their ATM. Almost all ATMs at airports and train/bus stations charge higher fees. Try not to use Euronet, Travelex, Your Cash, or Cash Zone. The ATMs have an English translation. Whenever paying by CC, tell them to use zloty and not American dollars. Dynamic currency conversion will cost you more.
I can't recall the last time I paid in cash in Poland, card payments are universally accepted.
I am in Krakow now and returning home today. I got 200 zloty for about $59, with ATM fees for 17 days travel including 14 on a tour. You can use credit cards almost everywhere (just not AMEX). The exceptions are when visiting churches or synagogues, small vendors in lesser travelled cities and some public toilets. Some toilet locations have credit card access, some dont. It's good to carry around a few 2 or 5 zloty coins, just in case. Most restaurants will allow you to use their facilities. Beautiful country, tasty foods (especially the soups) and friendly people.
