Music in Poland

I plan to be in Poland for all of September: Gdansk, Torun, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Klodzko Valley, and Krakow.

I love to include some good music and wondered if anyone had some websites you have used to stay up with concerts/performances. I do tend to prefer choral music or opera but a good symphony (or even an interesting organ recital) is also nice. I am also happy attending Mass (although not Catholic) for ambiance and music, if someone has a particular recommendation.

I am just beginning to look around for schedules and not yet finding much. For example, I would really enjoy hearing the Warsaw Boys Choir but don’t find any Sept. dates just yet. So I will keep looking but thought I would check collective experience here. :)

Wroclaw has a brand new contemporary concert hall called the National Forum of Music (NFM), its probably the largest and most modern music venue in Poland. Here's their current repertoire - https://www.nfm.wroclaw.pl/en/repertoire

I went to a Baroque music fest there a few weeks ago when I was in town, excellent acoustics, everything brand new, stunning modernist architecture, I would highly recommend it!

Also just down the street is the Opera Wrocławska, a 19th-century opera house with opulent Neo-Rococo interior, very nice venue too - https://www.opera.wroclaw.pl/1/

Keep your eye on posters around the cities. We saw a poster in Krakow for a concert by the American a capella group Chanticleer. You might ask, why bother in Poland? The answer is that they were a)In a tiny hall, a very old Synagogue, a musical treat. b)The performance lighting made the historic Synagogue's interior much more visible than usual. c)The Synagogue isn't open "all the time", and this was after hours, anyway, when you can't visit much of anything.

The amazing thing is that there were still tickets available (online) 24 hours before the concert.

Duly noted, Carlos! Knowing where to keep my eye on for events is so useful!

And Tim, how could I be so lucky…. Chanticleer in Poland. My eyes will be peeled! I have walked in on some cool stuff but never that good.

3 years ago in September, in Krakow, concerts/music in a variety of venues was well advertised. Excellent. great music at Mass.
I am going back this September on the Rick Steves tour as well as time on my own. Enjoy
