Where is the latest whereabouts of this picture "Lady with an ermine"?
Leonardo da Vinci's painting is in the National Museum in Krakow, Poland.
I went to see it last month, and there was no need to buy museum tickets in advance.
The National Museum has a number of branches. The Lady with an Ermine is at the Main Branch (Gmach Glówny) at aleja 3 Maja, 1. We went to see her last month and she is lovely. We did buy our tickets ahead of time online and were glad we did, since there was quite a lineup at the ticket office that day, maybe because it was a Sunday. The tickets aren't dated or for a specific time, it just says "Ticket valid until the end of the exhibition".
That's interesting. There was no line at the time of my visit, and I had asked the tourist office earlier in my stay whether I needed to buy a ticket in advance and was told I did not. Just goes to show that ticket lines can be a bit unpredictable.
Thanks for the speedy information everyone!
I hope you do see her - amazing painting. I was lucky enough to see it as a solo show right after it was restored in 2012. I appreciated it even more knowing the story behind it - here are two good articles: https://www.businessinsider.com/monuments-men-famous-works-of-art-2014-2 and http://www.versopolis.com/panorama/191/stolen-beauty-leonardo-s-lady-with-an-ermine
The audio guide is quite good--or maybe there's just a great deal of (English) information posted. (I tend to forget the source on the information presented in museums.)
Quite a story for this 'Lady".
