After our RS tour winds down in Krakow in September we would like to travel by train (or bus) to Prague, but I am having difficulty finding train schedules for that route. Is there good train service from Krakow to Prague?
There is good train service between them - I took the train from Prague to Krakow. It's about a 7 hour journey.
Regiojet has trains running from Krakow to Prague in six hours with tickets starting at about $25. To quickly get an idea of schedules and pricing, you can visit www.TheTrainline.com and then go to Regiojet’s website, www.Regiojet.cz to see if you can buy tix for less.
Here is a great website to help you review options, with pictures:

I took the overnight Chopin sleeper train on that route and loved the experience:

Not everyone sleeps well on overnight trains, with the possibility of frequent, noisy overnight stops, but I slept well and thought it was fun!
Very helpful!
Thank you, everyone.

CWsocial, could you give me an idea what type of sleeping arrangements you had (private room, shared room, etc) and approximate cost? I might be interested.
We took the Cracovia train from Prague to Krakow. It was a very good experience. The trip is about 7 hours but gave us a more restful day between the big cities. I believe you can go to cd.cz for tickets. Ours cost about $75 for two seniors in first class. The food was good too!
Nancy, I had a "Single Delux" (no 'e') compartment that had a single bed and its own WC, sink and shower. In 2018, I bought my ticket+sleeper two months in advance for $141.
This thread will explain another traveler's recent experience buying tickets for that overnight train:

When I recently checked, the full "Single Delux" fare was approx $222, or $171 for a single sleeper with no WC, sink or shower. You'll see in this thread that there are "workaround" options for buying cheaper fares:
