how to get to Biskupin Archeaology Museum and Sanok by bus, train or car/taxi hire

Hi,

We hope to be in Poland for three weeks. We have been there five times in the last ten years, so wish to see some places that are new to us. I've been to Krakow so often, I could almost be a tour guide.

We do not want to rent a car and are experienced on Polish trains and buses despite knowing very little Polish.

My question:
We are starting in Warsaw, going to Plock to see the Sierpc Museum, and then we wish to head to the Biskupin Museum. We could make a two day stop in a nearby city to stay overnight. We will then move on to Wroclaw.

  • what is the most sensible way to get to Biskupin?

We will then head to either Krakow for a few days or first go to Sanok directly from Wroclaw. I've been to Sanok once, but a friend drove me. I see I can go to Rzeszow and then take a bus to Sanok. Is there a more efficient way?

I am updating a Polish history book, so that is my reason to visit Sanok again and adding Biskupin.

Thank you.

I think I might be the only forum member to have traveled to Biskupin, have not seen any one else mention it until now. I went with a rental car and I think that's the only way to get there unless you hire a guide with their own wheels or are part of a bus tour. The site is impressive but is located in the middle of the countryside next to a small village if I recall correctly (it's been like 6 years since I was there). There were quite a few local bus tours parked there, but those were private tourist buses.

The most sensible way to get to Biskupin is by car. There is public transport but not from Płock. From Płock it will take 6 hours, 5 connections and it will not leave you much time before the museum closes.
