Hotels Old Town Warsaw and Wroclaw

HI Travelers:

We are finalizing a trip and we have a hotel booked for Krakow. I'm seeking advice for hotels in Warsaw and Wroclaw. Preferably very centrally located (Old Town), etc. Any advice would be welcomed from any recent visitors. Im looking at a few sites and have some ideas, but personal recommendations are always ideal.

Thank you

I wouldn't consider Old Town Warsaw to be centrally located. Look for lodging near the intersection of Nowy Swiat and Jerozolimskie - there is a Hotel Indigo right there and a Motel One a short distance away. If your a Rick Steves traveler, I'd recommend the Chopin Boutique B&B, which is covered in the RS guidebook - it's also the home of the nightly Chopin soiree, which Rick also recommends.

That area has excellent transportation connections via bus and tram.

I loved our stay at the Chopin Boutique B and B in Warsaw on the RS Poland tour. I highly recommend it. The location was very convenient, great breakfasts (make sure to try the honey -the owner has bees on the property that produce the honey), really interesting hotel owner, and as was mentioned above there are the concerts in the evening.

Hi, Chris.

Last year I visited Wroclaw after having been in Krakow. An easy train ride from Krakow to Wroclaw. When in Wroclaw, I stayed at the ART Hotel. It is about one short block off the main square in the old town. Thus, close enough to be a very easy walk to and from the square, but just far enough away to be quiet. To me, a perfect location. The hotel was lovely. Actually rather classy. Comfortable room. Very clean, very courteous staff. And a delightful breakfast buffet in a rather stately room. Price was moderate. Not cheap but not expensive. I would definitely recommend the ART.

BTW, I loved Wroclaw. A college town in some ways, and thus rather lively. Plenty of spots for dining and/or enjoying an adult beverage. Great walking city, rather flat.

In Warsaw, I would second the previous response. Loved the Chopin Boutique B&B. Stayed there last year with the RS tour. Visiting a friend in Warsaw next month (on my journey home from a 16 day tour in Romania) and will again be lodging at the Chopin.

I was on a Gate1 Poland trip last year. We stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Wroclaw, which was a 15 minute walk to Old Town and very close to an indoor mall.

We also stayed at Sofitel Victoria Warsaw. Public transportation is right at the frontage street. Walking distance to old Town, the Palace of Culture and Science (Stalin Building) and the Corpernicus Science Center. Since Warsaw streets are modern grid style design, public transportation is easily navigated.

Both hotels were modern, clean and were in good locations. Lots to see in those exciting cities. Enjoy!
