We will be traveling to Warsaw at the end of October. We've been there before, and stayed at the Warsaw Centrum. I'm looking to stay somewhere less "generic" and more of a boutique type of hotel this time. Can anyone suggest somewhere they've stayed and really loved that was smaller and a bit more of a "local flavor"?
Our dollar goes a very long way in Poland, so when I visited in May I stayed at two lovely hotels, preferred MaMaison LeRegina as it was extremely quiet and in a garden setting, at the far end at the edge of old and new town, and then at the Hotel Bristol, further down on Krakowskie Przedmiescie and definitely a luxury hotel but for a huge queen room it was about $115 per night. Lots of Art Nouveau details and meticulous attention to your every need, very clean and well-appointed.
I was born in Warsaw so I just stay with family when I'm there, but look at Booking.com and set the filter on "Old Town" under "Neighborhood/Area". There are a lot of atmospheric hotels in that part of town. You can get there by taxi or subway.
I second christa's suggestions. Last year I stayed at MaMaison LeRegina and it was fantastic! (booked a great rate directly on their website) I had friends who stayed at the Bristol and really enjoyed it last year.
Have a great time!
Thanks Christa and Stephanie! I checked out MaMaison, and it looks fantastic and exactly what I'm looking for. I think we're going to book it.
Thanks again for the suggestions!
Hi Christine- you've probably already booked a place but maybe for the benefit of others who might read the thread. I was in Warsaw a few weeks ago and stayed at the Chopin B&B. Prices were exceptionally reasonable (under $100), rooms are decorated with lovely antique furniture, there is a nightly Chopin piano concert, communal breakfast in the morning, and it is right in the city center (one block from National Museum). Would definitely stay there again.
