I'm trying to decide between Hotel 1231 and Solaris Hotel. Having read the descriptions in RS, Solaris seems a better pick for us in terms of location, but Hotel 1231 offers a better price. RS describes Solaris as "quirky" What exactly does that mean? If you've stayed there, please enlighten me.
We stayed at the Solaris for our one night in Toruń on the Best of Poland tour last spring.
To be honest, I can’t remember it! But for me that means it was fine :)
I am no help with your question (sorry), but I stayed several nights at Gotyk, which I thought was interesting without being weird. In case you need another option to look at.
I stayed at Solaris last month. It was nice, but was a little loud since we had a street facing room and it wasn't far from the main square on a Friday during the Christmas markets. We were only there one night and left early so didn't experience the breakfast at all, but the room was nice with wood timbered ceiling and the bathroom was modern. I'd stay there again. It was a great location.
In October we stayed at Hotel ETER. It was clean, had an elevator and they served a nice breakfast. The staff were all very pleasant.
Edited to add that the price was very good.
