HOTELS IN Krakow, Poland

Could anybody please recommend a good hotel with ambience in the Krakow main square area, old town area? We do not have a car, so dont have to worry about parking. Something with and old world feel to it & close to all the sights. Thank
You, Susan

Hotel Saski. It's just few steps from Rynek Glowny (Main square). It certainly has old world feel and you can walk to the most of the sights.

Although not in old town & not especially old world, I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn, which is within walking distance of major sights. The atmosphere of this spotless modern hotel is more like a boutique hotel, rather than a major chain. The friendly & professional English speaking staff members are helpful & welcoming. Upon arrival, they offered us lots of information on Krakow. The buffet breakfast was very good. Krakow is amazing....so colorful, lively & friendly!

Thank you everybody! We like to stay in a place close enough so we can just walk to everything. . . .

We liked the Hotel Wielopole, quite close to the square...maybe 5 minute walk? Not exactly oozing with charm but certainly not modern or chain-like. Huge breakfast, very friendly staff, comfortable room. Trams, ATMs just outside the door. When we arrived, the clerk pointed out that a special rate was now available that was cheaper than what we had reserved. Big points in my book. We took tours to Auschwitz and later to the salt mines that they arranged for us at the front desk. It was about a pleasant 15 minute walk with luggage from the station through the Planty. A nice stay.

My recommendation is Hotel Grodek. This is like 3-4 star Hotel at a great price. The location is prime! Located on a quiet cul de sac, just a few minutes walk from the Main Market Square. They have a very classy restaurant under a glass canopy, letting in the sunshine in morning and the moonlight in the evening. The Breakfast, which is included, was unbelievable! A huge buffet spread with everything from hot plates, meats, to salads & postas, fresh fruit, cheese & breads. The Staff and Service was excellent! They were very kind and professional. They answered all of my transportation questions as well as questions about Krakow and the Polish Culture as well.

My wife, daughter & I stayed at the Hotel Pollera for 4 nights last September. We had a triple room which was quite large and overlooked onto one of the quieter streets 2 blocks from Old Town Square and Cloth Hall, and one block to the Planty greenbelt. Also close to the train and bus station, I'm told. The clip-clopping of the horses pulling tourist carriages each evening was a nice change from the daytime street noise of tourists and autos. The breakfasts were large and filling. Don't do your laundry there, it was very expensive. Overall a good experience.

Last year I was in Good To Lenin Hostel . Hosel has a cool name , and is located in the heart :) . From the train station you can go on foot. The rooms are large and clean. There is free Internet. From morning also serves breakfast :) . I think this is a great place.
