Hotels in Krakow

We are traveling in July. we are looking at Hotel Wentzl or Krakow city apartments or Hotel Pollera? does anyone have feedback on these places? Wentzl is more expensive but the location looks great. But is it a noisy location? The apartment and Pollera look nice. they are closer to the train station. are they in a safe area? too many choices of hotels. difficult to select.

The train station is a little bit outside the Old Town area so not as scenic, but not at all an un-safe area. I wanted to be in the midst of Old Town (where the Wentzl is located) so I stayed just off Florianska at the Hotel Unicus, quiet except for the haunting, lovely sound of the hejnal (trumpet call) at St Mary's church nearby every hour, or the accordion player in the street below--he stopped at 8 pm, added a wonderful ambiance--IF you're an accordion fan, like me. Personally, I'd choose the Wentzl.

Funny that I read this, I am at the Hotel pollera now, looking for things to do in Kraków. It is in a great location, near everything in the old town. We walked around at night and felt safe. The people working here are wonderful, they all speak English and are extremely helpful. But like any hotel in town there is a lot of noise from the party people walking the streets. Also, you will be here in July, Our room has no air conditioning, I don't think any of the hotels do have ac. Great city! Enjoy!
