We aree arriving one day early as recommended. We are staying at Sopot Marriott Resort. What advice do you give for transfer to Hotel Admiral Gdansk where our tour will start. I speak little Polish. Should I arrange ahead of time, or Uber/Lyft?

What do you mean? That's only 10 km, no need for any special preparations. Do what you normally do on such short distances- taxi/free now/bolt/uber/public transport. I have never hear of lyft

Multiple ways to get there. For public transportation, you could take the S1 train to Gdansk Glowny, and then take the local bus 100 - which is a mini-bus - to the hotel Admiral. - it will drop you a block away. But since you would most likely take a cab to the Sopot train station, it would probably be easier to just take a cab the entire way - no reason to book in advance. Bolt is ubiquitous in Gdansk - download the app before you leave - just be aware that you most likely won't be able to set up an account until you are within Poland.
The Jakdojade app is great for using local public transportation inside Poland - both for schedules and buying fares - just be aware of fare validation rules in different cities.
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Admiral last April - amazing breakfast buffet.
