Hotel for end of May

Our Airbnb just canceled our apartment for the end of May. I am traveling with my 3 adult children. Any recommendations for hotels in an area centrally located to museums?

haha! I thought I was in the Warsaw forum!! It would be for Warsaw. I am considering Chopin Boutique B&B.

I stayed there in 2018. It's fine, but "boutique" is a bit of an overstatement, I'd say. It's also the only European hotel I've ever stayed in (of hundreds) where I was leaned on to leave a tip when I paid for my stay.

There were some good restaurants in the area; I especially liked Thai Me Up (which is Thai, naturally), and A. Blikle on Nowy Swiat is a good place to try paczki, the filled donuts.

Most museums were quite a walk (or tram/bus ride). It depends on which ones you plan to see. The National Museum (art) is very close to the hotel and worthwhile. The Polish Army Museum is part of the same complex. Among other museums and key historic sites:

Museum of Life under Communism (informal; seems to have relocated): 1 mile
Zacheta - National Art Gallery: 1 mile
Royal Castle and Old Town Market Square: 1.2 miles
Kuklinski Museum (Cold War spy; refer to movie "Jack Strong"; small): 1.2 miles
Mausoleum of Struggle and Martyrdom (Gestapo prison): 1.2 miles
POLIN: 2 miles (large and time-consuming)
Warsaw Rising: 2 miles (even larger and more time-consuming)
Pawiak Prison Museum (base for WWII deportations): 2 miles
Katyn Museum: 2.2 miles
Neon Museum: 2.4 miles (and a bit tricky to find; check the website and Google Maps)
Wilanow Palace: 6 miles

There are more. I loved the Polish Poster Museum out at Wilanow, but it's closed at the moment (and has been for some time) for work on the building.

We also stayed there in 2018. I agree with acraven’s assessment, for different reasons. We thought the pianist was unprepared for the evening recital. It was fine but we’ll stay somewhere else next time. The location worked well getting to the train station and the airport.

You might also consider checking some of the business class hotels. I stayed at the Intercontinental by the train station back in 2012 and because I was there on the weekend, the rate was incredibly low. Obviously it has been 11 years (so can’t speak to current prices or quality), but there are many business class hotels in that area. It is not particularly charming, but it worked fine for me particularly since I arrived and departed by train. The train station is about a 30 minute walk into the Old Town. I also used the bus a number of times, including to go to the Uprising Museum.

I walked a lot and didn't use transit all that often, but the buses and trams seemed to cover the city well.
