I'm trying to organize a day trip in July to the Kashubian countryside to see locations from my family heritage. Any suggestions for a great guide that can help me do this from Gdansk?

I would suggest inquiring in the Tourist Office in Gdansk. The staff would most likely arrange a guide if that can be done.
Check first at your hotel to see what is suggested there, then go the Tourist Office as this topic pertains to those historical inhabitants in this lower Vistula area, this part of the former West Prussia.
