Gdansk, Poland - what airline flies from Florence, Italy?

I used Rome to Rio and flights are estimated to take 6 hr. 15 mins. But no airline is indicated. Looks like you have to fly to Munich and from there to Gdansk?
Suggestions?

Norwegian Airlines on SAS offers a one way flight from Florence to Gdansk with a layover in Copenhagen. Entire trip takes 5 + hours versus many others offered of 11 hours, 15 hours! for $289.

Sound good to you? Is Norwegian still a good airline?

Try it on Google Flights. I did a random date search and I don’t see a direct flight, with most likely the best being a transfer in Munich. But you will have price and airline. And with that flight, Google will give you a choice of who to book through: the airline it will send you to is Lufthansa. Other choices were middle-men.

I also saw a pretty short transfer in Amsterdam with KLM, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. The Florence airport Wikipedia page will show destinations from Florence.

Ryanair flies nonstop on Mondays and Thursdays from Pisa to Gdańsk. Pisa is 1-1.25hrs from Florence by bus or train. Gdańsk is stunning. Make sure you enjoy pierogis at Pierogarnia Mandu in Gdańsk even if the line is out the door and half a block down. It goes fast, you’re sure to make friends with some locals and your tummy will thank you.

I use Google Flights for transatlantic and domestic flights. For intra-European flights I depend on skyscanner.com.

Use kiwi.com too. Don't need to book with them, but you can see what options you have.

Even when we paired Poland with London our options were limited.

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of Ryanair nonstop from Pisa, I can arrange to travel on a Monday so it seems that will work for me. I’m traveling in September and will meet my RS tour group in Gdańsk. I’m praying for the Ukrainian people and hope the Poland tour will not be canceled by RS.

I've found the best way to find airlines is to go to the wiki page for an airport. There's a table with all the airlines and destinations. It looks like next month Ryanair is starting flights from Venice as well. Pisa's definitely easier from Florence, though.

Loved Gdansk. The Solidarity Museum is exceptionally good. I missed the WWII Museum, also well-rated. Great international food options (I'm not a fan of Polish food) and charming old town.

Thanks for the tip to go to the wiki page for a specific airport, good idea!

Also, I’m keeping notes on to do items in Gdańsk.

I see multiple one-stop options -- via Munich, Frankfurt, Vienna, Zurich, among others that are much further out-of-the-way.

Any time I'm trying to figure out how to make flights work to get me from Point A to Point B, I start with these sites:

Google Flights, Skyscanner, etc. are also very useful. Always buy your tickets directly from the airlines, not through any third party.

All of you have been very helpful. I just booked a one way flight from Pisa to Gdańsk on Ryanair. I will remember the suggestions you made for interesting things to see. I will have an evening and a day on my own before the RS tour begins. Also I plan to stay 2 days post tour and see Auschwitz on one of them and hang out in Krakow and then fly home from there.

just remember since you are on RyanAir they will charge you for everything if you don't have it organized in advance. Be sure that if your luggage is outsize for the small carry on you arrange for it to be checked before arriving at the airport and if you have to print out anything like your boarding pass they will charge something like 50€ to print it for you.

Nigel,
50€, are you serious? To print out a boarding pass? My Florence tour ends on Sunday, 9/11. The Ryanair flight is on Monday, 9/12, from Pisa. I’m considering taking the train to Pisa on Sunday and spending the night. Then I will be in Pisa on the day of the flight. Does this seem like a good idea?

Thanks for your help!
