fun eateries in Zakopane

We stayed at the Hotel Sabała last year, and the breakfast was very good. Omelets cooked to order, in addition to a breakfast buffet with a large variety of items. In addition to people staying there, the restaurant room where they served breakfast also had people who were just there for breakfast, and weren’t staying at the hotel.

We had dinner one night at a restaurant up Krupówki street, the quasi-pedestrian-only main drag, and they had a live band inside, playing Polish folk music. Some bars were blasting pop music that you could hear on the street, but I don’t know about “pubs” with bands, or if other restaurants regularly have them. Our restaurant with the band was Karczma Zapiecek, located at Krupówki 43.

If you go up the mountain on the lift, you go through the market area with food items, and there should be concessions on top selling kielbasa, ice cream and snacks. Get some of the osczypek (cheese) ears at the market.
