Flying LOT Polish from Krakow-Warsaw-Budapest

I will be flying from Krakow to Budapest (with connection in Warsaw) on LOT Polish airlines on a Wednesday morning in September. This will be my first time flying this airline.
Is LOT considered a "low cost" airline? How has been your experience with it, if you flew recently?
How many hours ahead should I be at the Krakow airport for my flight? I'm a non-EU citizen if that matters and flying on US passport.
My connection in Warsaw is 1 hour. Is is straight forward transfer there since I will be coming from Krakow and flying on same airlines? Do I need to go to an extra "international" security area since I'm flying to Hungary? Or is it simpler since I'm flying within EU?

So many questions. Thank you in advance for your insight and advice!

Relax, easy. Arrive 2 hours early at the airport. Its a schengen flight so no passport control or security unless something unique is going on (rare). Budapest airport is good and simple but getting to your hotel depends on which hotel and how much luggage (taxi or bus).

Ohhhh, LOT, its as good as anything.

Only backpack and a carry-on luggage. I travel light :-)
I'll be taking the airport bus in Budapest which stops not too far from my hotel.

I have flown LOT in and out of Warsaw a couple of times. Both intra-Schengen flights.

As stated previously, in Warsaw you will just go from one gate to another. It's not that big of a terminal. In fact, it gets very crowded near the gates and there is not enough seating.

Be aware...LOT can be very strict when it comes to bags. They may size and weigh your luggage. Your main carry on can be no more than 8 kg and your personal item no more than 2 kg.

BTW, LOT is the national airline of Poland. Not a low cost carrier.

Thank you. Good to know they are strict.
Hopefully I can stay within limit!
My ticket includes a checked bag but hoping not to since that has all my clothing and I’ve had it delayed in the past.

And I assume I can just use the mobile app for check-in and mobile boarding pass at the airport without stopping at the check-in gate since I wont check luggage?
