Departing Warsaw via airport

I’m leaving Warsaw on a 6am flight. I connect through Amsterdam back to Detroit on Delta/KLM.

What time should I arrive at the airport in Warsaw for my flight to Amsterdam?

How long does it take to get through security at 6am?

Do I need to be aware of any passport check points in Warsaw or Amsterdam?

I have twice departed from Warsaw airport but not at 6 AM. Security wasn't bad. One time I got Fast Track security and I was literaly the only person there.

As to what time to arrive, at that hour I would say no more than two hours before departure. Others will say 3. More importantly, find out what time security opens.

You will go through Passport Control in Amsterdam because you are exiting Schengen.

We actually got to the airport at about 11pm. There were lots of folks that did the same. We felt there was no point in paying for a hotel room when we were going to have to leave at 3am. We did notice that gate agents didn't even show until 4am, so no point in arriving 3 hours in advance.

We flew out of Warsaw in May last year (at 10:20 AM, not 6:00!!), but it was so unremarkable that I don’t recall any hold-ups or difficulties. My steadfast rule for flying from any country to another has been always arriving 3 hours before scheduled departure, but I’ll acknowledge that that has sometimes meant getting to the departure airport before there’s anybody at the check-in desk. If you know that 3AM is ridiculous for arriving, then don’t rush to get there before 4:00. But once you get there, I wouldn’t take any extra time getting to the departure gate - get to the gate as soon as you can.

Thank you all for your responses.

I will check Warsaw’s airport website for when TSA opens and adjust the time to arrive at the airport.

Sleep is precious and don’t want to arrive too early for this first flight of the morning. 3:30-4am seems reasonable.

Just a reminder that TSA is a strictly U.S. agency, and the Warsaw airport will have its own Security. The KLM check-in desk opening time might be the most important, as I believe you’ll need a boarding pass before Security will let you through. Are you checking a bag at the check-in desk, or doing carry-on?

The KLM check-in desk opening time might be the most important...

Just be aware that it may be a combined Air France/KLM desk, which is what I encountered when departing from Krakow,
