We are planning to visit Czestochowa by train from Krakow later this month. It appears the train goes to Stradom station, which seems to be 2 or 3 miles from Jasna Gora. Is there a city bus that can take you from the station to the monastery? (By the way, I think Rick's books ought to include a section on Czestochowa, since so many people go there.)

Bus lines 16, 23 and 27, but they run in the area of Jasna Góra, not near the entrance. The bus stop in the area of the monastery is 'II AL. NAJŚWIĘTSZEJ MARYI PANNY'

Information is late but you may use it in the future. You can also take taxi. It is not expensive on distances in the borders of the city.
