Does anyone know if you can buy Boleslawiec Pottery in Krakow?

Melinda, I was there two years ago. I don't recall seeing any stores specializing in it, but we saw it featured in many stores in the touristed areas. Don't know if its a bargain there or not. Pretty widely available around here.

I did look casually on my last visit to Krakow in 2012 and found not much that motivated me, especially not in the pattern I was looking for.

I suggest taking a list & photos of the patterns you are searching for because the store is from floor to ceiling with pottery. There was numerous patterns available & some I had never seen. Store keeper spoke limited English but NO problems get things communicated. Had everything shipped to the west coast. Cost was very reasonable. A whole lot easier than taking on the plane. All items purchased arrived home in one months time and nothing broken. They were well protected in bubble wrapped. There were 9 in our group and everyone bought numerous items and had the same experience. The store is about a block off of the main square with a narrow front. The ice cream shop and bakery nearby are great place to stop to purchase a snack.

We found at least four stores specializing in this pottery and bought some from most of the stores. There were two in the Jewish section and at least two in the old town area of Krakow. Note that none of them shipped from the store. They wrapped them carefully and we carried it aboard the plane.

Thank you Pat -- I have heard of Dekor ..and thanks to Laura and Donna as well for your suggestions. I'll keep my eyes open. I don't have any particular pattern at this time. I don't even collect at this point...but found it so beautiful, I would like to bring a few pieces home (or ship).
