If we buy our tour tickets directly from Auschwitz, is it easier to take a public bus (Lajkonik) or a train from Krakow to Oswiecim?
We aren’t concerned with cost as much as convenience. Any thoughts on this appreciated.
Thank you.
We found it very convenient to take the train. Polish trains are excellent.
The train station is about 1.25 miles from the camp/memorial. Some of the buses go to the entrance of the camp. I have no idea about rail and bus fares.

Being Poland, they will be cheap.
Thank you for your replies.
If we take the train, what is the best way to book online and how far in advance should we do so?
We still have not heard from anyone regarding taking a bus from Krakow to Auschwitz. We would love to hear from anyone who has done so.
Thanks for your time.
I took a bus in 2018. It went to the camp. I bought the bus ticket the day before, in person at the bus station. It was no problem. I don't know whether fhere's a way to buy the bus ticket online; possibly not..
The key thing is to buy the Auschwitz ticket well ahead of time.
Just covered in part by another post:
Addition: No need to book trains in advance, as most of the trains on that route are regional/commuter.
