Beer/Food Tour

Hello,
Very excited for our summer trip to Poland.
My husband and I (mid 40s) love a food and drinks tour when we travel. We have time in both Krakow and Gdansk. I'm trying to decide if we should do a food tour in one city and beer in another or a combo tour in one or both. Appreciate recommendations. Krakow Urban Tours food tour is a.steong contender but potentially not available on the day I wanted to target.
Thanks!
Jenni

Love this proposed thread!! Grew up on Polish food (English modified) although my wife's family had more tradition Polish dishes that I loved, I can't wait to indulge in traditional Polish food and beers!!

I too grew up on a blend of Polish/English cuisine. My Dad was from Poland and met my Mom in England after the war. I'm really looking forward to the food and beer in Poland!!! A foodie tour sounds fantastic!!!

It's not a food or beer tour, but I loved my Crazy Guides communism tour in Krakow. Super fun to ride in an old car and get a taste of another time. We did sample vodka, does that count?

Also try a milk bar (or two) even if you don't do a food tour there. An experience for sure (and delish pierogi).

Just note that the food scene, especially in, Krakow, is much more than Polish cuisine. It is possible to eat well for days without visiting a traditional Polish restaurant.

I did enjoy trying different versions of Zurek - all good, but each slightly different.

In Kazimierz you could do a tour based solely on food trucks and street food.

Are there any food tours that are only food? I don't drink, so the tours with an emphasis on tasting beer or vodka aren't for me. All of the ones I have checked include drinking.

Since I'm not much of a drinker, and the prices I've seen for some of the tours seems a bit out of line, what I usually do is look for "chef's table" restaurants. Plus I have a list of places that friends have tried, so that's always useful.

Besides having food tours, this company also has an in home pierogi making tour, which we did. It was the best way to spend an afternoon. First we shopped in the market for the ingredients, then went to the guides home and learned how to make pierogis that we then had for lunch. https://krakowurbantours.com/

Hi,
When you are in Poland try Czernina.
It's a back soup with a tiny (around 5%) addition of a duck's blood. This ingredient is usually scaring people away, but soup is really tasty!

Only dish in our polish cuisine which you can name somehow exotic, as dumplings (pierogi) are everywhere and this soup isn't that popular.

Have fun in Poland!
It's a great country to see.
