Any area closed to tourists now?

I saw a story about the miles long backup around the border to Belarus and noted that another person on this forum mentioned that eastern regions are closed to tourists. Any advice? I'd like to visit a few places in Podkarpackie.

It may have been one of my posts you gleaned that from. I just now re-checked my source www.gov.pl and they no longer have the notice posted. If I recall correctly it affected the eastern halves of Lublin and Podlaskie voivodeships.

I don’t want to be the provocateur of misinformation that would dissuade anyone from traveling to
Poland. I became surprisingly enchanted with this country in October so much so I leave in two weeks for a return trip. Squeal!

A.W. Is a gem of a contributor to this forum who lives in Poland. Perhaps he can give you more specific information what it’s like in the eastern border areas. Enjoy Poland!

Eastern Poland closed to tourists??? Seriously guys, where do you get such nonsense info from? No part of Poland is closed to tourists. In fact, right now life is more normal that it has ever been in the last two years due to the lifting of all covid restrictions. There are no entry rules (no tests, bo locattor forms, no vaccine passports, no quarantine), no masks, nothing etc. Covid is gone.

As for the situation at the bother with Belarus - first, you may not be aware but there have always been queues of lorries at that bother stretching for many kilometers. Not nice if you live or drive there regularly but those parts are not not exactly international tourist hotspots. It's more of a nuisance for the locals and domestic tourists who like visiting those regions. Some time ago activists tried to block transport of food and medicines which are exempt from sanctions but I believe the situation has calmed down now.

Covid is gone.

That could be a bit misleading. COVID is not gone, but COVID restrictions may be gone. Just for clarification.

Perhaps gone is the wrong word but no, it's not only restrictions that are gone. Covid dissappeared from headlines and private conversations many weeks ago. Last time I met a person who claimed they had covid was about February.
