We will be flying from Berlin to Gdansk to join up with the Best of Poland Tour in May. In using Skyscanner, three airlines are listed including Lufthansa, Eurowings and LOT (the Polish airline). Eurowings and LOT have cheaper fares. Has anyone had good or bad experiences or recommendations for any of these three airlines? Thanks.
Why not just take the train? Faster and cheaper.
there are no direct flights from Berlin to Gdansk on LOT
Neither are there any on Eurowings or Lufthansa. The Lufthansa option will be with a change in Frankfurt or Munich, and the Eurowings option with a change somewhere else, perhaps Düsseldorf.
There is a direct train daily at 1252, arriving at 1844, fares from 50 Euro single, booked with DB.
For another 5 Euro you get a cancellable ticket and a Berlin City transit ticket included
Booked through PKP it is about 28 Euro, about 40 Euro 1st class.
Thanks. The train looks like it will work.
Marce,
Which Poland tour in May? I’m on the 5/21-5/30 tour. Maybe we’re on the same one, that would be nice to meet someone in advance.
I just booked my airfare yesterday, flying into Gdansk and home from Krakow. I’m lucky I fly out of Atlanta on Delta Airlines.
Judy B, we are on the May 7 Poland Tour. We are doing about 3 weeks on our own visiting Budapest, Vienna, Prague and Berlin prior to joining the tour.
Marce,
I’m excited for both of us for the Poland tour. I look forward to exploring this unknown-to-me corner of Europe. All the places you are going will be so interesting and will connect in many ways to Polish history and culture. I’ve been to Vienna twice, Berlin and Prague once (would love to go again), but Budapest I haven’t seen. Ahh! We are so fortunate to be traveling.
Enjoy!
