2-hr layover at Warsaw airport long enough to recheck-in luggage?

My flights from US to WAW and then WAW to KRK are on separate tickets but on LOT for both. I am unable to check luggage through to KRK per LOT. Do you know if two hours between flights is long enough to go through passport control, collect luggage, recheck the luggage, and go through security?

My answer is not specific to your airport. I will note that time to collect luggage really varies, even within the same airport. Sometimes my luggage is there in 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it takes an hour. It really depends on several factors. Where did your luggage end up in the hold? How many workers are scheduled to handle luggage? How many flights arriving closely together?

I don’t think that anyone can tell you with any certainty how long it will take for your luggage to appear.

You don’t have two hours as there will be a cut-off time to check your bag to KRK. It looks like that is 30 minutes before a domestic flight. You would have 90 minutes to get through immigration, baggage claim, and check your bag.

The big question will be whether or not your inbound flight arrives on time. That is impossible to predict. I’d have a backup plan.

Make sure that you ask again at the counter at your originating US airport to see if the agent will check it through to KRK. This seems rather customer unfriendly since both flights are on the same airline.

Thanks for your answers. Looks like it'll be roller boards for us!

Chances are that taking the train from Warsaw to Krakow may get you to your hotel not that much later than flying - if you make the connection.
