Hi, my husband and I and our beautiful young adult daughter are traveling to Krakow in April. I'm having trouble finding a hotel that can accomodate all three of us in one room. Suggestions? Should we try an apartment instead for the three nights we're there?
Have you looked on booking.com?
No. Thank you for the suggestion. I think we may end up with an apartment.
I usually tend to go for a hotel when staying less than 4 nights but for my 3 nights in Krakow I rented an apartment. It was in a great location, just steps off of the main square (Rynek Glowny) and I was very satisfied with it. It was very nicely updated with all the comforts - great shower, nice kitchenette, good bed - I couldn't have asked for more. Grodzka 4 Apartments. They are on booking.com which is where I booked my apt. Would definitely stay there again.
We picked Orlowska Townhouse but we haven't stayed there yet. It has really great reviews on TripAdvisor. They have more than one room that will fit you all but this one seems quite large at 860 square feet and will work: https://www.orlowskatownhouse.com/en/loft.htm
I always stayed in the B&B La Fontaine in Krakow, including the time I went with my parents. Most of the time I stayed in the main building (on the corner of the Main Square), although one visit I stayed in their Annex, which was about a block from the Main Square. I was always happy there. The website lists some family rooms that seem a good price and may work for you. https://www.bblafontaine.com/en/
I just booked an apartment through Airbnb for $112/night that has two bedrooms and a kitchen.
Last Sept., my spouse and I stayed at Krakow City Apt.(recommended in Ricks's book). The apt. was really nice. We had a 1 bedroom. I don't know if the couch was a pull out, but they do have 2 bedrooms. The location was good: not far from the train station, and we were able to walk to the sights that we wanted to see.
We rented an apartment and got the Rick Steves discount and also made arrangements to be picked up at the airport. I had to laugh, though, the confirmation listed the renter as Rick Steves and his name was on the signboard at the airport.
Double check that promo discount! They corrected it right away. :-)
Thanks for your great suggestions.
