Krakow - nice, quiet hotel recommendation

If anyone knows a nice, quiet hotel to stay in in Krakow, we are looking for a place for our Aug. trip.

A few years ago, we stayed at the Tango House B&B in a room facing the courtyard.
The only noise was the trumpeter.

We stayed at the Doubletree Hilton. A 15 minute walk to Wawel castle and the Royal way, also an easy walk to the Kazimierz section of the city.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Wielopole a few years ago. Convenient location, helpful staff and great breakfast. Quiet is important to me and I had no problems.

Our requirement also was for a quiet location so we didn’t want a hotel on the town square yet located nearby. We chose Hotel Amber Design, a few blocks away from the square. We chose a room in the rear overlooking trees in their Design section of the hotel. Very helpful staff who made airport pickup and Auschwitz-Birkenau tour reservations for us. Easy walk to historic sites and restaurants. Good choice.

I will jump in for a second, just not to create another topic. Can anyone advise on the same destination but for October trip? I'm planning a trip there atm and would love to hear for the real reviews. Price/quality options, please!

We are looking at the Betmanowska Residence on the square in Krakow. You might want to look at it. Very good ratings.

If you want a quiet hotel, I would be cautious about choosing one right on the market square. We were there in August, the square was crowded and noisy during the day and even more so at night, with all kinds of buskers, performers, horse drawn carriages clomping around and hordes of people. If you are choosing a hotel on the square, make sure it has soundproof windows and A/C.

We stayed at the Wielopole, good location, nice breakfast and friendly and helpful desk staff, but I found the room small and dark, even with all the lights on (good washroom though, with a walk in shower) and the bed not comfortable.

In October, 2018 I stayed at Hotel Maltański, a recommendation from the RS guide book. Although I had read comments about noise from a nearby restaurant, my upstairs room - which faced that restaurant - was perfectly quiet, even with the windows open.

The hotel is just across the street from Planty Park and, per their website, it is "just 300 m. from the Royal Castle of Wawel, and just 500m from the Main Market Square, which makes it one of the best situated hotels in Kraków." It is also a minute or 2 from a tram stop that will take you to the Kazimierz district.

The hotel staff were amazingly helpful, answering my emails within minutes at all hours of the day and night and helping me to pre-book several tours and make restaurant reservations during my stay.

The breakfast (and breakfast staff) was delightful, a combination of European continental with a daily rotation of Polish specialties.
