Winter in the fjords region

I am thinking about a winter trip to Norway next year, and would like to spend a couple of days in Oslo followed by some time near one or more of the iconic fjords. I started researching and am having a hard time figuring out where would be the best home base. What I really want is a treetop hut or a cabin that has a great fjord view, and a fjord on which boats can run in the winter. My main concern would be easy access to food and basic services.

I would prefer public transport over driving from Oslo and would not want to have a car during my time in the region. Is this even feasible? Where do I start? Thanks!

If you are looking for a treetop hut with a fjord view, your options are limited. Treetop huts aren't exactly common in Norway, but there are couple. And Woodnest, https://www.woodnest.no , just outside Odda offers a view of Sørfjorden. If the view is great or not is up to you to decide. Odda is a small town, but there is food as well as basic services. And it can be reached by public transport.
