My husband and I are planning a western coastal cruise from Bergen to Kirkenes. We will be part of a tour group with the local Norwegian museum. We will be using the Hurtegruten shipping line to go along the coast.
How many of you have used this cruise line for this type trip? What can you tell me about the cruise line?

Hurtigruten ships connect the towns along the coast so not really cruise ships. They deliver goods, mail and passengers. People get on and off the ship at the stops. The food is excellent. They may offer a piano player in the lounge. Those on board tended to be Northern European, few from US. We loved the whole experience but do not sail on regular cruise ships.
