Visiting Nigardsbreen glacier from Flam

We are a family group of 7 adults hoping to visit the Nigardsbreen Glacier from Flam. Our plan is to Take the Norway in a Nutshell tour from Bergen and stay the night in Flam. We would them like to take a tour to the glacier the next morning into early afternoon and ride the train back to Oslo. We don't expect to arrive in Oslo until mid-late evening and we're OK with that. I think we will book the NIN tour with Fjord tours just to be sure of getting all of our reservations during a busy time of year (we're planning on July 8-9, 2025). I contacted them and they replied they cannot book this into the NIN tour.

First question: Is there time to do this tour in 3/4 of a day, either easily or rushed if necessary and still make the evening train back to Oslo?
Second question: Is there a tour company to take us to the glacier from Flam?

Are we nuts to try and put this activity into the NIN tour? I will admit that we kinda like doing nuts things...

I've been reading the Forum and RS guidebook and my head is still spinning with the possibilities. I thought I would tap into the collective wisdom of the Travel Forum people.
Thanks!!
Neil

I see no option how this shall work safely - health wise and time wise. I guess around 11-12 hours under very good conditions - last train is 5:30 p m.. Not aware of any tour offering this and there is no car rental at Flåm station.

On July 9 you will have a large cruise ship in port.

How about 2 days for Folgefonna National Park which is closer to Bergen?
