Hello, I’ve bought some items in Bergen and entered the VAT receipt into the Global Blue app. Do I still need to find a customs office or will this be enough? We are traveling via train from Oslo to Stockholm so will not be at the airport.
Thank you!
Maybe we could’ve done that, but my understanding, when we were in Norway (departing from the Oslo airport) last fall, was that the paperwork we got from the store had to be submitted in person, and the Government had to sign off on it. I used the App to track when we received our refund, but the woman at the window at the airport was meticulous in checking the papers. She did not ask to see the merchandise, although we had it to show her, if needed.
The woman in front of us in line took forever to fill out her application, with her piles of receipts. She wouldn’t let those of us who were prepared go past her to the window, so several of us had to wait. There was more than one window, but only one was staffed. It’s good that we had plenty of time before our flight.
Not sure if the Oslo train station has a similar window, or if you can bypass it using the App, but the above was my experience.
Here are the rules: https://www.skatteetaten.no/en/forms/rf-1365-tilbakebetaling-av-avgift-for-privatpersoner-og-uregistrerte-firmaer/ You need proof that the items have left Norway.
