Will my up to date Citbank Visa card work in a Vy ticket machine at the Oslo Airport in Norway? The card has a chip and works by inserting it in a card reader or tapping it on the card reader? Thank you

And if it doesn't work in the ticket machine, the OSL train station has a staffed ticket booth.

Add a travel notification to your card BEFORE you leave USA. Our Costco Citi Visa is our main card to use overseas and never and issue. Some vendors have told me that after about 5 tap transactions, the next one will request an insert as a security measure.

The FlytoGet train departing Oslo’s airport for Oslo Sentral train station downtown has a ticket machine that DOES accept U.S. credit cards. The machine is located just before the entry gate for the FlytoGet train.

In general (not this station specific) if you can tap as opposed to inserting, then probably very likely, inserting it can be hit or miss, more miss for large transactions, better for low dollar transactions.
The issue is security and being able to validate the transaction, not the acceptance of the card (except that it has poor security measures)
