My generic solution to getting to places not on the beaten track is to ask a local. If you can find a destination (hotel, attraction, or the local area tourist bureau) and their contact information, ask. It may be a combination of train, local bus and arranging for a car or taxi service.

My usual resource for ferries in Norway in advance is http://www.visitnorway.com/us/getting-here-and-around/. Lately, some people have used Rome2Rio.com for general searches but it doesn't reveal any ferries here and I don't know the range of that site's expertise.
