I just spent a lovely day in Bergen and enjoyed the small section of the town that I saw. Bergen was a cruise port stop for me, so I had to pick my top experiences and go with those.
The ship docks outside the downtown area so we had about a 25 minute walk to our first stop, the Mt Floyven Furnicular. Several hundred shipmates had the same idea. Tips: mid-afternoon there was no line. Buy tickets in advance to bypass those without.
There is a lovely view, tourist services, and trailheads for several interesting walks at the top.
Next we went to the meeting place for our walking tour , Bergen Past and Present, that we arranged through Viatour. The guide was engaging and did a terrific job on our two hour tour. We learned a lot and we walked a lot. Not the tour for mobility challenged.
A nice day.
