Following a Nordic cruise in 2019, we hope to extend our trip by traveling to Stockholm and possibly the south of Sweden for a week. Are there any recommendations of how to get there -- train, car, airplane?

Air and train.
SAS has daily flights Bergen to Stockholm - I flew that route last July for $55 although I booked months in advance - other carriers also fly that route - and rail service to southern Sweden is excellent although not inexpensive. If your plans take you as far south as Malmo, flying may be cheaper - although I like train travel in Sweden.
