Travel to/from Trolltunga Hotel Odda from Bergen?

Hi! I will be visiting Bergen in May with my adult son and we have just booked a Trolltunga hike and stay the night before in the Trolltunga Hotel. I am wondering about the best way to get there from Bergen? Is it possible to do easily with public transport? Or would we be better off renting a car? From what I've seen, it seems like car management may be tricky/expensive - tolls, parking, following road signs, etc.

Any recommendations?
Thank you!

It appears the Trolltunga Hotel is in the town (village?) of Odda. I haven't been there, but the Skyss company has service from Bergen to Odda.

Skyss website

Click on the red Menu button at the upper right (on a PC) and look for "In English".

You'll find many routings (some including a rail or ship leg), the simplest of which seems to be Bus 930, but you can look at all of those departing at a suitable time of day for you to see what makes sense. There appear to be several stops in Odda, so contact your hotel to see which one is closest.

Norway's rural buses often do not run frequently. One that I took last summer arrived in Flam rather late, leaving me with much less sightseeing time at my destination than I had counted on, so I'd say not to expect absolute punctuality.

If the hotel is in Odda, then yes, the easiest would be to take the direct bus from Bergen to Odda.
