I will be flying into Alesund October 2nd with a 9:00 pm arrival. It will be dark. Rick Steves guide says that buses meet the flights and drop off at the same place as the Intercity buses. I am staying at the Thon Hotel Alesund, the walk looks straight forward for the daytime, but I wonder if it is wise for a senior women to walk along that route that time of night. If it is a buy tourist area (in Oct.) then I would normally feel comfortable walking alone. Taxi seems expensive but I will take one if necessary. Any other suggestions?

We were in Ålesund in May 2023. So darkness was not an issue at that time. I don't know how well lit the route is. There always seemed to be others out and about in the evenings
A taxi from the airport will probably be about 600nok.
It's about a 10 minute walk from the nearest airport bus stop, the Korsegata to your hotel. Perhaps you could get a Taxi or Uber from the bus stop to the Thon Hotel.
I would contact the Thon Hotel Ålesund for suggestions.
